Rusty Bodkins was set up in 2011 and is a passion as well as a small business. It celebrates the use of the medieval longbow and crossbow in 15th and 16th century Scotland.
This period was a high watermark for the Scots' relationship with these weapons, with many documents from the Parliament of Scotland records showing their use enshrined in law.

Until March 2020 my work involved presentation and demonstration of the medieval weapons, alongside public participation archery, mainly at Historic Scotland sites. This has had to be suspended for the time being, however I am hopeful to perhaps bring back the presentation and demonstration side at some point in the future.
